Rainbow cupcakes
This week we wanted to make rainbow muffins because there cool and they taste good and are not to hard to make and decorate, but in the end they taste good and look cool, kinda like colourful sponges
RATATOUILLE
This week in 7 / 8 BA, we started our Film Study. Obviously we needed a food related movie to fit in our with our interest topics, and so, we watched.... Disney's Ratatouille! So far we have just watched it once and formed our first impressions. Check out the trailer and read our thoughts on the film in the comments below.Sunday, 8 June 2014
2 weeks ago we...
Not last week but the week before we cooked hokey pokey, Jaffa muffins, chewy chocolate chip cookies & Russian fudge. We thought it was quite interesting that with the cookie you don't squish them flat you leave them as large balls and as they cook they flatten out!
They are really yummy and they were sort of healthy because it had fresh orange juice and zest in them. We were mostly pleased but there were two things we weren't happy with 1. Russian fudge as we didn't leave enough time to let it set we will update this post on how it tastes tommrorrow as we are refridgerating it over night! The other thing we weren't pleased with was our hokey pokey it was bendable and quite sticky. So next time on Thursday we will redo our hokey pokey and Russian fudge and we will probably do something else because James will be in charge of Russian fudge and hokey pokey only takes about 15 minutes!
Yup 100% yum! Jane made the Jaffa muffins Jaffa meaning orange and chocolate chip.

Food Revolution Day 2014
A few weeks ago on Friday the 19th of May, 7 / 8 BA helped break a world record for the number of children cooking while following a demonstration. It was a part of Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution Day. Food Revolution day is all about getting kids to cook healthy meals from scratch and become food smart. That same week we also challenged ourselves to make 'rainbow'meals... this means we had to use a range of fresh fruits and vegetables which come in all colours of the rainbow. Our meals had to be super healthy and were only allowed to contain one ingredient that did not come from a plant. Check out some of the things we came up with. Here is the link tom find out more! www.foodrevolutionday.com
